Biography:
Francesco Branciforti was born in Caltagirone, Italy. He received his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2020 with the thesis “Development of a CNN based classifier for the recognition of cutaneous melanoma”. He worked as a Researcher under grant from January to April 2021 at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He currently is a Ph.D. student (Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences) at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His research is mainly focused on dermatological image analysis and particularly on the design and development of a smartphone-based microscope and innovative deep learning techniques for normalizing, segmenting and classifying skin lesions.
