  • Biography:

Silvia Cannone was born in Trani, Italy. She completed a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico of Turin (2023) with the thesis “Monitoring tools to optimize therapy in patients with implanted left ventricular assist devices” developed at the Medical University of Vienna (supervisors: Prof. M. Knaflitz, T. Schlöglhofer, C. Gross).

In 2023-2024, she held research scholarships at Politecnico di Torino, developing algorithms to estimate clinical parameters in heart failure and supporting clinical validation of a wearable multi-sensor device for heart failure prevention. Since 2024, she has been a Ph.D. student at Politecnico di Torino, focusing on signal processing of data acquired through a wearable multi-sensor array developed within her research group.

Her Ph.D. investigates advanced heart failure patients with mechanical circulatory support, particularly LVADs, aiming to characterize pump-heart coexistence via multimodal analysis. The goal is to develop a home monitoring system that autonomously analyzes daily recordings and provides feedback on cardiac status and pump functionality for safer and more personalized remote management.
