Biography:
Nicola Michielli was born in Bari, Italy. He received his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2016 with the thesis “Microwave imaging of biological tissues: a multiresolution approach”. The activity was conducted at the Advanced Computing and Electromagnetics research area, Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB), Torino, Italy. In 2017 he began his Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences jointly established by the University of Turin and Politecnico di Torino, Italy, and obtained his Ph.D. degree in April 2021 with the thesis “Analysis of Signal Decomposition and Stain Separation methods for biomedical applications”. He is currently a Research Assistant at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His research is mainly focused on the development of mathematical methods for the functional assessment of biomedical signals and medical images in digital pathology.
